Adsense Weirdness

I have adsense running on two blogs with identical templates (that will change at some point but isn't the point)

On one of them the ads are displaying fine:

The other one isn't displaying any ads at all:

http://www.searchenginecookbook.com/

Am I missing something really dumb and obvious?

Any input would be really appreciated

Apparently Adsense and Adwords had a small 'malfunction' yesterday and Friday. You can find a lot of info about it on webmasterworld.com
